The Chamonix Valley needs no introduction for ski tourers. It has fabulous tours at all altitudes and for all conditions. This is a great place for us to start our week of touring.
After a couple of days locally we will head to the Rhone Valley and then drive to the little known resort of Unterbach in Valais. This quiet resort is a gem. Although there aren't many lifts, there are enough to give access to a wide area. Lifts go up to 2400m, and allow tourers to do relatively short ascents to the local peaks around 2900-3000m. And if the weather is bad there's plenty of tree skiing to be had too.....
The guiding cost for the week is 1050 euros. This covers guiding, trip planning, emergency gear, and the guide's hotel costs and lift fees in Unterbach. In addition you will have to cover hotels and lift passes.
